As Headteacher of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Engineering College, it is a great privilege to give you a warm welcome to our school website.
Our Lady Queen of Peace is a proud and popular, fully inclusive Catholic school in Skelmersdale that welcomes pupils of all abilities and backgrounds. The school is on a journey of continual rapid improvement and is ambitious working relentlessly to achieve high standards and expectations, provide outstanding pastoral care, excellent personal development opportunities, a robust curriculum and high academic standards. Our core values are Respect, Responsibility & Resilience.
Our school mission statement ‘In Christ We Grow’ is at the heart of all that we do. As a learning community, we live out our Mission Statement striving for excellence through caring, sharing and achieving and live out our gospel values. We promote strong relationships and provide a learning environment that is nurturing, safe & secure. We also promote spiritual growth so that all in our community can find ways to grow closer to God.
We offer a range of academic and vocational subjects. Our Curriculum for Life programme includes Citizenship, PSHE, Careers, Finance, Health & Well-being, Relationships & Sex education which prepares students to become active, responsible young citizens. We have a close relationship with our primary schools and run summer schools for Years 4 & 5 & Year 6. Our extensive wider curriculum opportunities and achievements include Sport, Music, Dance and Drama.
Our teachers have high level knowledge & expertise in their subject specialisms and deliver with enthusiasm & passion, engaging pupils in a variety of learning activities. The school is well resourced with a library, laboratories, sports hall, music performing arts theatre and extensive outdoor spaces. There is excellent support for pupils with special educational needs. We are a Flagship School for the Inclusion Quality Mark. Our school is supported by a team of highly experienced, committed, dedicated governors ably led by Mr A. Hren.
